I'm 21 years old, and I have been losing hair on my scalp for at least two years now.
It wasn't too much of a nuisance at first, but lately, I've been noticing my hair was getting thinner and thinner, especially in the crown area, and now when i look in a vanity mirror opposite the bathroom mirror, I can almost see my scalp.
So I decided to use Rogaine Foam, which I have been using for several months now, . I was also considering a hair transplant, but then just today at the gym, my Mom told this to an old man who is a doctor we speak to regularly there said that I wass too young for a transplant, and instead suggested that I shave my head.
He said I shave wherever the hair loss is taking place, then wait two weeks for it to grow a little, then go back and shave it again. It's supposed to help the hair grow thicker than it was before within months ater the second shave, and using Rogaine can be optional.
So what do you think? Should I go through with it to see if it works?
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? Before you do you should consider other options. One of principal causes of loss is shampoos and other products containing harsh harmful ingredients and medicated shampoos only make the problem worse. Washing hair too frequently removes beneficial natural oils and harms scalp and also is a cause of loss. I found this NATURAL, safe, low cost treatment that gives remarkable results - it stops the loss almost straight away. Scalp needs stimulation to clear blocked hair ducts, remove dead follicles so it can start producing strong, well anchored, thicker hair. Massage with natural oils, olive oil is excellent, and then brush vigorously (best with a short bristled palm held brush) so you feel it stimulating scalp (35 /45 strokes or more) preferably each day. A little shedding and some breakage occurs but only to begin with - quickly stops as hair gets anchored and stronger. Hair will grow faster, become thicker and It will also force new growth overtime (expect to see in about 2 months) My bald patch on the crown has completely regrown. Where it had receded at temples new growth was a slower process but I found, month by month, the hair line inched forward. (Initially the hairs are sparse then overtime become denser). Do at night and sleep with it that way and wash off in the morning (because of treatment - washing daily will not be detrimental). Keep up treatment and DON楹揟 BE AFRAID OF LOSING NEW GROWING HAIRS AS YOU CONTINUE TREATMENT - THEY WILL RE-APPEAR EVEN STRONGER. Using this treatment you have to have patience and persevere day in, day out but it truly works . Also do a web search "Shampoos harmful?" MANY contain sodium laurel sulphate, sodium laureth sulphate and propylene glycol, all of which are harmful. First two are dangerous and both damage hair follicles and cause hair loss. They also harm eyes.- the eye stinging you get is telling you that. Fetuses subjected to these substances do not develop functioning eyes, and both can cause cataracts in adults. Propylene glycol is a known skin irritant and is thought to cause mouth ulcers. It also damages the kidneys and liver. Do a web search for safe, non harming products for hair and skin. Balding tends to be genetic. My father, two younger brothers all had severe hair loss problems. I truly believe this treatment has saved me from the same fate.

Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? I say shave your head. This could work on two levels.
First, your hair might grow back thicker. That would be cool.
Second. If your hair doesn't grow back, It's no big deal. You're the young Bad*** with the shaved head. Everyone will remember you as the bad*** with the shaved head and the hair loss won't be a big deal. Good luck. From a bald 26 year old.
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? thats actually true about shaving almost anything on your body. in many south american countries they shave both male and female babies' heads when they are born and it seems most have very thick hair (thats what they did to me as well). if this rule applies to everywhere else on your body, i don't see why it shouldnt apply to your head. you might as well try it!
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? Go to hair treatmeant center or buy rogain now. Do not shave head it will not help I have seen allot of young bald men. Sad but true. here is a few tips. do not drink, do not smoke, do not do drugs. Do not wash hair every day, only 3 times a week. Wear hats in cold and hot weather and do not use hair spray, or other types of bad sticky products. Put rogain and hair oils on your hair or scalp. Sleep well and avoid bodliy stresses like parting too much.
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? Well, I have a similar situation, but I'm 57. My wife won't let me shave my head. What really bothers me is the barber shop still charges me full price.
I have a few moles on my head that will show if I shave my hair off. Then if I do that, do I have to continue this shaving thing daily or can I get away with once a week.
I say go for it. If you don't like it, what hair you do have will grow back.
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? You can but I don't think it will stop hair loss. It didn't for me. Grow it long while you can and comb it over. That will get you another 10 years or so before it really becomes evident.
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? If you use the beard as an indicator the more u shave the thicker and quicker it comes back. The reason behind beards growing faster is the constant trimming stimulates hair folicles. While it may seem counter intuitive simply brushing your "scalp" (as I assume your hair is short enough) with a boar bristle brush might do the trick and save u the trouble of having to shave your head regularly.
As a side note make sure u aren't working with harsh chemicals (cleaning business/chemical plant) and touching your hair habitually. Try to resist touching your face or hair at ALL TIMES unless your hands have just been washed.
Lastly I noticed you go to the gym and elevated levels of testosterone can cause hair loss so maybe cut your gym down to twice a week? Hope this helps. Good Luck!
Shaving Head to Treat Hair Loss? It is a world wide spread hair-related myth that repeated shaving of hair will make it grow thicker.
The truth is NO, it won't!
The source of this myth is the sudden feeling of thicker hair as soon as it starts to grow back again after shaving, the fact is the hair grows back and because of being short it makes you feel it got thicker but as soon as it takes its full length this feeling will fade away.
There are other medicines out there that may be able to slow down the hair loss process, talk to your physician and think of using "Minoxidil". I've tried it and has a slow but certain effect.
Hair loss is a natural thing to happen, your genes will eventually kick in; and your testosterone will only hasten the process, so don't be depressed, feel proud that when you're losing hair that means your body is producing a lot of testosterone which means you're more of a man than the others.
Later in the future don't grow side hair or a pony-tail, just shave it all, it's cool and it gives you an edge that undoubtedly will get you through life a lot more easier.
Have a nice life.
